Story / Plot
Arjun, originally from Chennai, works for a US-based firm and is initially stationed in Tbilisi, Georgia, where Kayal was born and raised. During a vacation with their respective friends and colleagues, Arjun and Kayal cross paths. They quickly bond, spending the rest of their trip together, and continue to stay in touch even after returning to their daily lives. Eventually, Arjun relocates to Baku, Azerbaijan, for work. Two months later, he proposes to Kayal, and she happily agrees to the engagement.
Three years pass, and the couple finally gets married. In the months that follow, Kayal becomes pregnant, but tragedy strikes when she suffers a miscarriage. The doctor delivers another heartbreaking blow—she will be unable to conceive in the future. Struggling with the emotional weight of this news, Kayal begins to distance herself from Arjun, creating a rift in their marriage.
Nine years later, Kayal confesses to Arjun that she had an affair with a man named Prakash. Though hurt, Arjun appreciates her honesty and suggests working through their issues. However, Kayal has already made up her mind—she wants a divorce and intends to move back in with her parents in Tbilisi. As a final act of closure, Arjun requests to drive her there himself, marking one last journey together before ending their 12-year marriage. Initially hesitant, Kayal eventually agrees.
During their trip, they encounter a group of intoxicated youngsters, including a troublemaker named Michael. Wanting to avoid any conflict, Arjun keeps his distance and drives on. Later, at a gas station, Kayal meets a Tamil couple, Deepika and Rakshith, who reveal they are on their way to deliver a package for Rakshith’s job. After a brief conversation, they part ways.
While continuing their journey, Arjun and Kayal’s SUV suddenly experiences an electrical failure and stalls in the middle of the road. Arjun steps out to inspect the issue, and moments later, they spot a truck approaching. Hoping for help, they try to flag it down—only to realize it’s Deepika and Rakshith. The couple attempts to assist but is unable to fix the vehicle. With no phone signal in the area, they suggest that Kayal come with them to a nearby coffee shop to call a tow truck while Arjun stays behind to watch over their belongings.
