Story/ Plot
The film takes place in the 1970s in the remote village of Gurramgattu, Telangana, where a rigid social hierarchy dictates the lives of its people. Pedda Gangadhar (Yuva Chandraa), a humble shepherd, dreams of educating his daughter, Saraswati, defying the deeply ingrained societal norms that restrict lower-caste villagers from seeking knowledge.
Entrusted with safeguarding a sacred sheep (Pottel) meant for a ritual sacrifice held once every 12 years, Gangadhar’s life takes a drastic turn when the sheep goes missing. This loss puts him at odds with the village’s ruthless leader, Patel (Ajay), who upholds the oppressive caste system and sees education as a threat to his authority. Patel issues a grim ultimatum—if the sheep is not found, Saraswati will be sacrificed in its place.
With the unwavering support of his wife, Bujjamma (Ananya Nagalla), Gangadhar fights back against Patel’s tyranny, determined to secure his daughter’s future. The film delves into themes of education, caste oppression, and resilience, presenting a gripping tale of a father’s defiance against injustice and his unwavering pursuit of a better life for his child.
