Story/ Plot
Surya, an insurance agent at NLIC, struggles with intense anger issues. As a child, he made a promise to his mother, Chayadevi, to unleash his anger only on a specific day each week. He chose Saturday, the day of her passing. Keeping a journal, Surya meticulously records the names and offenses of those who wrong him, reviewing the list every Saturday. He acts only if he believes his anger is justified, and even then, his outbursts are confined to before midnight.
His violent nature is a source of concern for his father, Sankaram, and his sister, Bhadra. During his childhood, Surya developed feelings for his cousin Kalyani, whom he fondly calls Kallu. However, Kallu and her mother, Prabhavati, fled their home to escape her abusive, alcoholic father, Seethayya, and started a new life under a different identity. Surya’s uncontrollable rage eventually causes a rift at Bhadra’s wedding, prompting her to sever ties with him and take a teaching job elsewhere. This enrages Sankaram, who begins warning Surya’s potential enemies on Saturdays, knowing that Surya often spares those he cannot harm in honor of Chayadevi.
