Revelations is a dark, thought-provoking South Korean psychological thriller that dives deep into the murky waters of faith, guilt, and human morality.
The story follows Father Choi, a dedicated but mentally tormented Catholic priest who receives a mysterious confession about a gruesome murder. Story/ Summary
Ryu Jun-yeol plays Min-chan, a devout seminary student whose life is turned upside down after he receives a divine vision a chilling prophecy about a man who has committed a brutal crime. Min-chan believes that God has chosen him to expose the hidden evil and prevent further tragedy.
The accused is Sun-woo (played by Shin Hyun-been), a respected member of the church with a clean image. Min-chan’s obsession with his divine revelation drives him to investigate Sun-woo’s life, convinced that he’s a murderer hiding behind faith and charisma.
As Min-chan spirals deeper into his mission, he crosses paths with Detective Hyun-joo (played by Shin Min-jae), who is investigating a cold case eerily similar to Min-chan’s visions. But while Hyun-joo follows evidence, Min-chan follows faith even when it leads him into morally gray territory.
